Galley, John Remember the headline in The Evening Post “it’s a goal a game Galley!” Great goal scorer and a hero when I was a kid.

Galley, John John Galley is indisputable as a Bristol City legend. Galley was usually on the end of everything in the air in the penalty box. He was a very brave header of the ball and was an aerial threat to score from any good cross. His career goal scoring record was excellent and he set up many goals for others too. Galley was our King!!

Galley, John Waited outside his old house (626 Whitchurch Lane, Bristol) many evenings to try to get his elusive autograph. My Dad then got it for me when he bumped into him getting petrol. Legend.

Galley, John When City signed him, there was a photo of him in the Evening Post when he arrived in Bristol and he was on crutches. People laughed and wondered what on earth City had done now. He soon got fit, however, scored a hat-trick on his debut and never looked back. A big heart and always gave his best. A good, old-fashioned centre forward.
