Alan Garner

Alan Garner

Clubs played for: Millwall, Luton Town, Watford, Portsmouth, (1969-1981).

Born: 1951

Birthplace: Lambeth

Position: Defender

Biography: A Frank Burrows purchase who was heralded as "as good a player as we are likely to get". He certainly impressed in the heart of the defence before being released on a free transfer when Bobby Campbell took over as manager. Finished his career at non-league Barnet and was a director of a double glazing firm in Hitchin. The company was wound up in 2008 but Alan still regularly attends Luton's games and at one time had an executive box at Kenilworth Road.

Garner, Alan Alan Garner is one of my dads closest friends. I have many fond memory’s going Luton games with him in his executive box as a child. He still lives in the area and frequently plays a round of golf with my Dad.

Garner, Alan Went to school with Alan [John Ruskin]. Lived on the same council estate. His dad and mine drank in the British Legion together for many years. Shame he never got a chance at Millwall. Loved to get in touch if poss.
