Gemmill, Archie Sunday mornings in the very late '70's to the very early '80's were spent swimming at the Regional Swimming Pool, aka "municipal", Moor Lane, Derby.
On several occasions AG could be seen standing in the cafe area overlooking the pool and looking down at those in the pool. There would usually be a few comments flying about from other swimmers of our age (then of school age) pointing him out!
Oneself never knowingly encountered him inside or outside of the pool. One can only guess that his son might have been in the pool at the same time as AG was only ever seen standing alone. Happy days - even for a Rams supporter!
