Harper, Colin One of the nicest footballers you could have met. A gentleman sportsman.

Harper, Colin It was near the end of season 71-72. We played Sheffield Utd on the Saturday and drew 0-0. Colin was very harshly sent off and, in protest, took off his shirt on his way off the pitch. A few days later, in an evening game, we played Man. City, riding high and with a real prospect of winning the league. We pulled off a shock 2-1 win, thereby scuppering their chances. It was Colin who scored the winner who, in ironic celebration, raced around pretending to take off his shirt in 'tribute' to the events of the previous match!
