Hawker, Phil I remember Phil well from Langley school, he was in my class. He was an exceptional footballing talent even at that age. On a very few occasions I managed to prevent him scoring in a playground match, (I was either a defender or goalie as I’m rubbish at footy) but 97\% of the time he’d swerve straight past, and invariably score. I recently attended my first ever football match (at the age of 60) and saw his son play for the “Bards” (Stratford Town). Hope you and family are well Phil.

Hawker, Phil Great utility player at Walsall when we had some truly excellent teams. Dependable and never let anyone down. When we regained 2nd Division status after 25 years in 1988 Phil scored one of the goals in the play off win against Bristol City. He obviously had some great holidays as would always come back for pre-season training very tanned indeed!

Hawker, Phil Phil still lives in Solihull and has been happily married to Belinda for the past 32 years, they have two children Joshua and Sophie. Phil runs the family car business, the Hillfield Motor Company based near Droitwich and also has a small property company. He retains a continuing interest in Football through his son Josh who was apprenticed at Birmingham City and ic currently with Halesowen Town.
Phil still maintains good contact with old playing friends from his Birmingham City and Walsall days.

Hawker, Phil I went to the same school as Phil. I remember him because all the girls (teachers included!) used to fancy him like crazy - he knew this yet he wasn’t at all conceited and was in fact a really lovely guy. We were never close but I always liked him. Everyone wanted him in their footy team and he was always the first to get picked. All the kids knew he’d be a footballer cos he was so talented. I hope you’re doing good Phil ?? You were born 5 days after me. You probably don’t remember me (Ricky Goode back then) - but I’d like to wish you all the best. Langley was an excellent school - I wish I’d made more of my education there. I moved to Manchester (Didsbury) in 1984 and am still here. I am a musician and some of the groups I’ve been in are The Glitter Band - The UK Doors - Pleasuredome and my own group are called Waiting For Riki. Well done for all your footballing success my friend !! You did great. Best wishes to you and your family. From Rik xxx
