Herd, George I watched George in every home match in the mid sixties, a truly great winger, I used to see him driving near the Wheat Sheaf frequently and we used to wave at each other. A great player and a great time.

Herd, George I remember George when he was a young 18 year old in the 1950s in Inverness when he was serving his 2 year National Service in the Army at Fort George Barracks when he was signed and played in the Scottish Highland Football League with Inverness Thistle. He was a very skillfull winger and when he went back to Glasgow at the end of his National Service he was transferred into the the Scottish Football League with Queens Park FC where he played with Sir Alex Ferguson, and then went on to greater things with Clyde FC, Sunderland, and Scotland.
