Position: goalkeeper

Biography: One of the best goalkeepers in the country in his day and was said to be as 'brave as a Lion'. Found his way to regular first team football blocked by the great Vic Woodley. Started the 1934-35 season as first choice until picking up a nasty injury, which let the England star back in. Emigrated to Canada after the war and became a professional golfer, returning to the UK in 1950 to play the British Open, died in Nova Scotia in June 1965 aged 59.
