Keith Jones

Clubs played for: Chelsea, Brentford, Southend United, Charlton Athletic, Reading (1983-2002)

Born: 1965

Birthplace: Dulwich

Position: Midfielder

Biography: Made his league debut against Barnsley in March 1983 and after scoring four goals in his first ten games it appeared that he was set for a long run in the first team. A drubbing at the hands of Man Utd resulted in him being taken off at half time and resulted in him spending the next 18 months only making the occasional first team appearance. A make or break run in the 1986-97 saw him fail to recreate his initial promise and he was later sold to Brentford for £40,000, where his career soon picked up again. Became a personal soccer trainer after hanging up his boots while coaching part time at Tooting and Mitcham. Then landed a job in the US, coaching at Charlton's US Academy. Also helped out with Coweta Cannons and Atlanta Silverbacks women's team. Is now in Phoenix, Arizona coaching FC Sol.
