Kane, Peter I remember Peter when he played at St Mirren, he used to drive a small van selling kids clothes, curtains etc.We were just lads but he was probably the first ‘real’ footballer we had ever met. Very cheery, happy guy, willing to chat about football. This must have been late 50’s early 60’s. Good memories.

Kane, Peter I did my National Service at the RAMC depot Crookham the same time as Peter, and we met occasionally. The interesting thing I remember is I think was around 1964 ish, I was having a drink with mates at the Prince Regent pub in Plymouth when I spotted a familiar face on the far side of the bar, and it was Peter who recognised me as well, which was nice. I can only imagine that his team were playing Plymouth Argyle that weekend. Small World as they say.

Kane, Peter Peter served two years National Service in the R. A. M. C. in 1960-1962 Unfortunate time for him, because he had singed a contract with Arsenal Football Club and his playing days with the club were limited because of the years served in the army. Had a very successful football career later with other top sides. Which you can read on his Biography, brilliant player and a wonderful guy.
