Kerray, Jim Jimmy was a victim of the most deliberate act of violence I ever saw on a Football field. Early sixties Plymouth Argyle v Huddersfield. Plymouth player, I know whom. Whilst running full pelt towards goal with Jimmy, the Plymouth player span and with the palm of his hand smacked a stiff arm into Jimmy’s face. Jimmy was highly rated but I believe that injury destroyed his confidence.

Kerray, Jim Jimmy signed me when I was 20 and the man shaped my life. Jimmy to me in football terms was way beyond what was we were playing in the 70s. Like football today he got us all to play the passing game just like Manchester City play now. We all loved playing for Jimmy. He became a friend to us all and very respected by everyone to me. He was like a second father and friend but the best thing about Jimmy was he treated everyone with respect. Me personally, I will never forget such a great friend and person. My condolences are to the family from all the boys. To Sandra, Mark and family from the Lower Hopton boys - rst well our boss and friend. Love Tommy Traynor
