Knowles, Peter When it was known Peter was leaving the Wolves the North Bank sung a song "Please dont leave us Peter Knowles" I even think they either threw flowers on the pitch or ran up and gave them to him. Outrageous talent.

Knowles, Peter Tell me if you know of any other highly talented footballer that we never to see his full potential. I believe Peter Knowles would have become one of UK’s If not the World’s most gifted inside forwards. I was lucky enough to see him play for the Wolves. I can remember him when playing against Manchester United he sat on the ball near the half way line and beckoned his opponents to try and the ball from him. He never missed us but by heck we missed him!

Knowles, Peter I'm a lifelong Wolves fan, now 70, and remember Peter as one of the most gifted players to represent my club. He had genuine star-quality and the arrogance all great sportsmen possess. Had he not gone to Kansas that fateful year, who knows? Had Peter not retired he would have shone for Wolves and England. But then that's what people such as me wanted. It was not what Peter wanted, so thank you Peter for the years you gave us and God bless.

Knowles, Peter My wife and I are Spurs fans and we saw Peter Knowles at his brother Cyril's testimonial. The pair were trying to out do each other with flicks and back heals, Peter having turned out for the Spurs 11. Eddie Baily the then Spurs Trainer jumped to his feet and was gesticulating to PK whose response was a clearly audible, 'it's only a game'. It has stuck with us to this day and whenever we see people in sport loosing it one of us will say it in the same tone as PK did on that night. A lesson to us all! Sad that modern sport has moved so far from that ideal. Still have the programme too!
Knowles, Peter Peter Knowles was a talented footballer and had the physique of an athlete . He was a joy to watch. I remember him once leaving a fullback bewildered , Peter flicked the ball from his left heel over his shoulders, over the opponent head and ran on to repossess the ball. What a shame that football lost a footballing legend to religion.
