Biography: A £3.5 purchase from Hajduk Split in 2006, Nico was undoubtedly a world class player on his day. Always capable of creating an opening from nothing, the Croatian international was a key player in the 2008 FA Cup win and it was no surprise when 'larger' clubs started to show interest. A move became more likely when he publicly stated his intention to leave when his contract expired. Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of the situation in September 2009 and picked him up for a modest £2.5 - a fraction of his true worth.
