Frank Leboeuf

Clubs played for: Laval, Strasbourg, Chelsea, Marseille, Al-Sadd, Al Wakrah (1988-2005)

Born: 1968

Birthplace: Marseille, France

Position: Defender

Biography: Glenn Hoddle paid £2.5 million to Racing Club Strasbourg to secure the signing because he wanted to play a 3-5-2 formation. The Frenchman took time to get used to the barrage of high balls into the box, but once the majestic defender settled, he quickly became a cult hero with the Stamford Bridge crowd. He proved to be deadly from the penalty spot, only missing three times in over 20 attempts. Formed a decent partnership with Michael Duberry when the club reverted to a flat back four. By the time he had left, his trophy haul stood at two FA Cups, Cup Winners Cup, League Cup, Super Cup and a Charity Shield. The former French international is now living in Los Angeles, USA, still plays for Hollywood United, the celebrity football team and is trying to make it as an actor, on the big screen and the stage.
