Birthplace: Staveley, Derbyshire

Position: Full-back

Biography: Joined United from Doncaster where he was leading scorer with 12 goals in 14 games in his first season but was a wing Half-back, and he made his debut against Charlton Athletic in March 1932. He made his only other appearance against Oldham a week later, before returning to the reserves where he stayed for his second and final season before moving to Chesterfield. He went into coaching after the Second World War in Holland and Spain before joining Turin in 1947, but a promising coaching career was ended in a plane crash at Superga, just to the West of Turin in May 1949. He died, aged 38.
