Mackleworth, Colin Work for many years with Colin whilst stationed at Bow. Played football together both for the station side and area team. He was a fantastic keeper and even when getting on in years he could beat most players when playing on the field. Was in the same team when I saw him ‘drop’ his shoulder outside of penalty area beat a young good defender and place the ball with accuracy in the top right. I also played in a game when insisted to play on pitch at Chigwell, but we were short that day and we insisted he play in goal, never to this day have I seen at such close quarters what a great keeper he was, it was a cup game, we lost, 1-0, but without Macca between the sticks it could have easily been 5 or 6 nil. I have a few great stories from our policing days, but they will be kept under wraps.

Mackleworth, Colin Colin was my Dad's friend in the police. I was also a keen goalkeeper as a kid and used to really enjoy meeting up with him. Haven’t remembered him for years until Harry Redknap mentioned him on Celebrity. Strange as HR only lives a few miles from me.
