Biography: The scorer of one of the two vital goals against Millwall which preserved United's Division Two status in May 1934. Two years later he scored 14 goals in 31 appearances, including four in a game against Port Vale as they secured the Second Division Championship. Despite leaving the club for Brentford in the last season before the Second War World, he came back to guest during the War, Manley went back to London in peace time and continued to play until he was 39. He then returned home to Cheshire and took over the running of the Avenue Inn in Comberbach.
