Biography: A native of Dublin before joining Blackburn Rovers in 1956.An unremarkable defender before manager 'Jolly' Jack Marshall switched him & another defensive player Fred Pickering up front. In the 1963/64 season he was the first divisions leading scorer with 32 goals & the next he did the same sharing the honour with Jimmy Greaves with 29 goals.Most were plundered from inside the area.Blackburn were relegated in 1966 & after a season in Division 2 he returned to Ireland & joined Limerick F.C. He continued to play part time whilst working as a tram driver.Later he managed Bray Wanderers & played a major role in the clubs accession to the League Of Ireland. He died in 1994 aged 55.
