Biography: Signed by United in 1952, scoring twice the following year in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup Final success, but couldn't make his mark in the star studded first team squad. Johnny Berry kept him in the reserves and he only once made the first team for a 2-0 victory over Spurs in February 1954. He now lives in retirement in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, after working for the family of his wife in their wholesale fruit business at Manchester's Smithfields Market. His son, Ross, is a former professional golfer and now works for Sky.
