Biography: McGuinness progressed through the youth ranks at Old Trafford but was unable to break through into the first team squad, and was allowed to join Crewe Alexandra. Returned to Old Trafford in charge of welfare and accommodation of youth players, then became Director of United's Centre of Excellence for 12 years before taking over the Under-18s in the summer of 2005.
