McLaughlin, John Grew up in Edmonton as did John, went to Eldon Rd Primary. We played together Saturday afternoons in the 7th Enfield Battalion Boys Brigade football team on the school pitch. It was a successful mixed aged side and John was good enough at 14 to hold his own in a team mainly made up of 16-17 year olds.

John Tilley was our centre forward his brother Les played for Enfield and was capped many times for England as an Amateur.

John McLaughlin was a lovely lad I remember him well and pleased to see him become a professional and make his mark in the game.

McLaughlin, John I have many happy memories of John when as a player at Swindon. He would often visit my family. My mother at the time washed all of Swindon Town's football kits and became very friendly with all the players ,but John was her favourite.
