McMahon, Pat Is it true that Pat McMahon left Celtic because he had a bust up with Bertie Auld on the training ground and so Celtic decided to let him go to Villa on a free? One of the best free transfers villa ever made!

McMahon, Pat I went out with Pat a few times in the early 70s. We used to go to a pub called the Baggot Arms in Erdington. I hope Pat is keeping well as he was so nice to me.

McMahon, Pat Our neighbour was Pat's brother-in-law John Crainey. He was married to Pat's sister Margret. We used to go to Pat's house in Croy before the games. They were exciting times for a schoolboy. Once Pat took me onto the football park in Bedlay miners rows and coached me for a bit. He was a real good guy a super star in my eyes. John Crainey, Jim Mitchell, John McHatton used to take me as a boy to watch Pat play for Killsyth Rangers and when he played for Celtic FC too. He was my hero back then. I saw him score a header for Kilsyth Rangers from about 18 yards out it was text book. I also saw him score two goals for Celtic vs Clyde I'm sure. Later on in life I worked with his father Tim snr and Tim jnr in Bedlay Colliery. They were all good people.

McMahon, Pat I had a huge crush on Pat when i was a teenager. I had a pair of gold cufflinks made for him with AVFC on them. I got my mate to give them to him because I was too shy. I wonder if he still has them.

McMahon, Pat Hi. I believe that Pat's brother is called Tim.
Also I think it may be his younger brother.
My partner is Tim's son. And we really would like to contact him. Please help.

McMahon, Pat I was at Elm Park Reading's old ground when Villa played them in the old Div 3 whacking them 5-3. Pat McMahon picked up the ball in the centre circle beat 3 or 4 Reading players & hit a 30 yard rocket into the top corner, the goal was that good not only did the Reading fans clap the referee did too! I'll never forget Pat's header to beat Man U in the League Cup semi at Villa Park v Best Charlton Law etc. Pat scoring another header v Pele's Santos when we beat them 2-1. Finally I remember seeing Pat & Chico Hamilton & one other player jump on the number 7 bus at Witton island after a Villa home game early one season no doubt off on the lash up town, you obviously wouldn't see that these days! Fine player who had it all. Happy days!

McMahon, Pat I knew Pat briefly when we lived in the same place in Bayswater, London. Pat used to fly home on a Friday to play in Scottish Junior football and then left London when he was signed by Celtic. We used to train with him in Kensington Gardens. This mainly consisted of the rest of us trying to get the ball off him. They were happy days.

Mcmahon, Pat I'm Pat's nephew. He still lives in America, - Portland, Oregon. He married about 12 years ago and has 2 sons. He works for a TV company mainly writing commercials.

McMahon, Pat I lived opposite Pat in Erdington when he lodged with Mrs Jones and I had a huge crush! As a student I worked on the Christmas post and delivered to his house. One day he flung the door open, threw his arms round me and said 'I've got you at last!' My dream come true but I fled-I've regretted it ever since-what might have been? Lovely man-hope he's doing well.
