Birthplace: Godalming, Surrey

Position: Full-back

Biography: England international full back and captain with 42 caps, played nearly 750 games for Ipswich before joining Saints in 1982 two months before his 33rd birthday He went on to play over 100 games in the next 3 seasons, followed by a final playing season at Stoke City. He then entered management with a four year spell as Potters boss, followed by a few months with Colchester United, a scouting job for Sheff Weds & coach at Birmingham City. He was also rewarded with an MBE for his long service to our national game. Since his last job in football management and coaching, and was chief scout at Sheffield Wednesday, He now lives in Suffolk and is technical director of Galaxy Sports Management. He is also Suffolk's patron for the Sir Bobby Robson Charity

Mills, Mick Lived and worked in Ipswich during the 60s so never saw MM at Portman Rd but as I moved to North Wales I went with my two sons to many away Ipswich games. My main point is to applaud MM on his radio Suffolk(?) analysis and hope for more. AW

Mills, Mick John Lyell should have signed Mick Mills for West Ham as he had already Stewart Pearson join the team in 1979 and he won the FA cup in 1980. Mills and Pearson would have been an ideal pair.
