Biography: Moved to United for £200,000 in March 1972, after an abortive move to Derby County where Brian Clough paraded him on the pitch as a new signing. One of the best goal scoring wingers of his day, he scored on his debut against Huddersfield Town in March 1972 to give United their first victory for three months. He then scored in his next two games but injuries took their toll and he was forced to retire on medical advice, 18 months after arriving at Old Trafford. Capped by England, he became a successful businessman in Nottingham where he was a publican and owned a bookmakers, but is now chief scout at Aston Villa having previously had same role at the City Ground.
