Nattrass, Irving I was apprentice at Newcastle the same time as Irving was in first team he seemed very quiet compared to Tommy Cassidy and Tommy Craig but always a gent.

Nattrass, Irving In 1972 Irving presented me with my first ever football medal when my school team won the small schools trophy which involved teams from the Jarrow, hebburn and Felling area. He was at the time just making a name as an up and coming right back for Newcastle. He was later on the verge of breaking into the England team when he picked up a bad injury. Had he chosen to stay at Newcastle rather than move to Middlesbrough I am sure he would have full filled this ambition

Nattrass, Irving One of the best fullbacks of his time not to play for England
