Position: Midfielder

Biography: Newton made his way through the ranks at the club to become a regular in the midfield engine room. Was at his best at the base of a midfield diamond before the signing of Didier Deschamps and injuries took their toll on his stay with the club. Gave away a penalty in the 1994 FA Cup Final defeat at the hands of Manchester United and then netted the winner against Middlesbrough three years later. Left the club for Birmingham City on a free transfer after nine seasons service. Coached a kids school team before setting up his own business, New Vision Sports, as well as helping to coach the Chelsea youths. Has co-presented Football Icon on Sky and is now assistant head coach at WBA having previously worked with MK Dons.
