Parkin, Derek Mr Parkin used to come to our school (Codsall Prep) and do footy training. Aged maybe 6 or 7, I remember scoring an own goal in front of him once and bursting into tears, but he was always supportive. It was him who really started my love / obsession with the game, which has led to some of the best and some of the very worst moments of my life. Thank you, Mr Parkin. I hope you are very well.

Parkin, Derek I have read the comments with interest and have known Derek down here in the Wolverhampton and Telford area for 20 years or so after watching him at very regular intervals during his long playing career. I have spoken to him by phone this year and interviewed him for the www.wolvesheroes.com website I run with his long-time Wolves team-mate, John Richards. I am particularly interested in the comment above from David Barnwell because I wondered whether he was related to one of Derek's former managers at Wolves, John Barnwell. My email address is instone@blueyonder.co.uk - thank-you if you can reply!

Parkin, Derek I remember calling on Derek at Longbenton while we were only 14 and playing for South Northumberland schoolboys, his ability was a lot higher than mine and his wonderful career shows that. we are talking 50 years ago where has the time gone

Parkin, Derek I was in Dereks class at School at Thomas Addison on Hailsham avenue and we were in the Football Team along with Dave Millar and Reg Whitehead in the early 60,s. Derek very often had a very strong tackle and was sharp and crisp and we all knew he was special. A great lad and I wish him and his family all the best.

Parkin, Derek I played with Derek on the back field every Sunday great lad at longbenton
