Perry, Fred Fred played for Sittingbourne in the Kent Senior cup final against Ramsgate at Gillingham on Easter Monday 1958 which sittingbourne won 1-0 in front of 10,036 spectators, The Kent League was also won that season. While returning home from the last match of the 1957/58 season against Faversham the car that he was travelling in with other Sittingbourne players was involved in an accident and Fred had a leg amputated and his playing career was over. A benefit match was held for Fred at Sittingbourne on the 12th. November 1958 when Sittingbourne played a combined X1.
