David Platt

Birthplace: Chadderton, Lancashire

Position: Midfielder

Biography: Joined United as an apprentice after leaving school in 1992, and did enough to earn himself a professional contract in 1984- 1985 season but he failed to make an impact, and was given a free transfer by Ron Atkinson as part of a cost cutting exercise in January 1985. He went on to join Crewe, Alexandra growing into an accomplished international midfielder. Managed Sampdoria, Nottingham Forest and the England Under-21 side. Then worked as a television pundit. Is currently back in the game as part of Man City's back room team.

Platt, David I was the greatest midfielder of all time goal to appearance ratio.. I was ruined once I left Aston Villa just like Christian Benteke was .. UTV!
