Linvoy Primus

Linvoy Primus

Clubs played for: Charlton Athletic, Barnet, Reading, Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic (1990-2008)

Born: 1973

Birthplace: Forest Gate

Position: Defender

Biography: Even though Linvoy played for three other clubs, he has been adopted one of Pompey's own and become one of the club's most popular players of all time. Remarkably he did not cost a penny, having signed from Reading on a 'Bosman' free transfer. Injuries hampered his early days at Fratton Park but once he broke into the first team he became an instant hero and immediately won the Player of the Year award. The likable Londoner was forced to retire in 2009 after a long fight to recover from a further injury. His name is now immortalised in Fratton folklore and sits proudly above the old Milton End, which is now known as the Linvoy Primus Community Stand. He now splits his time between duties for the club and running his charity Faith and Football.
