Birthplace: Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland

Position: Half-back

Biography: A hard tackling wing half was signed for £120 from financially stricken Orient. He made his debut against Manchester United in April 1906 in front of 67,000 but he was never able to hold down a first team place. Earned a commission during the Great War, had three spells as Orient manager before retiring through ill health in 1939. Proudfoot then returned to his native Wishaw where he died in March 1941 aged 59.
