Radford, John As a small boy, I used to play with his nephews, they were always talking about uncle John. 55 years later, still supporting Arsenal.

Radford, John During my schooldays in Dublin I was a fanatical supporter of Arsenal. Big John was my favourite player and having the same surname as him I pretended that he was my uncle, for years afterwards I had old schoolmates asking me how my uncle John was keeping. I also based my own football career on his style. Phil Radford.

Radford, John I met John Radford on Blackburn Railway Station on a Friday afternoon. He was with another Rovers player called Tim Parkin. He was more than happy to chat. Always liked the goals he scored for Arsenal. The next game was against Oldham at Boundary Park were he did a flying header and Rovers won one nil.
