Position: Full-back

Biography: Made his debut against Spurs in September 1935 but didn't establish himself at right full back until 1936-1937. He helped the club to the Second Division title the next season and was tipped for international honours only for war to be declared soon afterwards. He used to travel from his native St. Helens every day with team mate, George Vose. Served in the army during the war but contracted tuberculosis in October 1943, and died aged only 30.
