Trevor Roberts Hi Haydn.
Great memories of your father & would like to hear more about him. I work on history/heritage for Cambridge United & can be contacted at paddythedaddy54@gmail.com.
I'm also in touch with Dave Brabbing at Southend, & he has asked if I'm in touch with you.
Hope all's well with you.

Trevor Roberts I first got to know Trevor Roberts back in 1966 not long after he joined us from Liverpool. It was at the time when I first started travelling to Southend away matches. After one particular mid-week away game up north I was lucky enough to be given a lift home on the players coach by the then manager Ernie Shepherd. After a little while Trevor came and sat with me for a chat so you can imagine what it was like to have one of your idols actually wanting to know what life was like for you and that is something that I have cherished for well over 50 years. Trevor Roberts really was one of life's gentlemen and it was one of my life's highlights to have got to know him all those years ago. Trevor RIP. Love Nobbler.x

ROBERTS, Trevor Trevor was goalkeeper at Southend United and also a school teacher at Belfairs High School For Boys when I was a pupil there. It was strange calling him Trevor on a Saturday and sir on a Monday. Trevor was one of the best school masters I ever had. He left Southend and signed for Cambridge in July 1970. Trevor left Belfairs on the same day as I did. I remember he stopped his car as me and my friends were going out the school gate and wished us all good luck and we said that we would see him a Southend's Root Hall the following season. Alas we never did as Trevor died far to young in 1972. RIP Trevor.
