Biography: Born in Chile. Moved to Barnsley in 1932 aged 5. Played 105 games for Barnsley scoring 45 goals. In 1949 moved to Newcastle United for 26,500, with his brother Ted.In his Newcastle career he made 146 appearances scoring 82 goals. Between 1950-57 he made 31 appearances for the Chilean natonal team scoring 8 goals. In 1953 he moved back to Chile joining Colo-Colo where he was the top scorer in the Chilean League in 1953 and 1954.He finished his career with Club Deportivo O'Higgins. He died of a heart attack in 1989.
