Was given a regular berth on the right hand side of midfield whereas he would probably have preferred to have played in the middle of the park. His second season was wrecked by a broken toe and despite two spells out on loan he was unable to regain his first team place. Was left to see out the last two years of his contract in the reserves. Later played for Norwich City and Hull City Rocky sadly died in March 2001 aged 33, two months after being diagnosed as suffering from non- Hodgkin's lymphoma. He is one of 16 Arsenal legends to have their images painted on the side of the Emirates Stadium.

ROCASTLE, David Use to watch from the North Bank. One of my favourite players. I hated George Graham for letting him go. Rocky even cried because he didn't want to leave. Such a sad loss at such a young age.
