John Sitton

John Sitton

Clubs played for: Chelsea, Millwall, Gillingham, Leyton Orient (1978-1990).

Born: 1959

Birthplace: Hackney, London

Position: Defender

Biography: Came through the ranks at the club but was mainly a reserve team player. He was given a run of games towards the end of the 1978-79 season when the club was already doomed to relegation but it was clear that he wasn't part of Geoff Hurst's long term plans and he was sold to Millwall for £2,000. As manager of Leyton Orient he sacked a player Terry Howard at half time of a game against Blackpool. Is now a black taxi driver, has worked for the FA on their coach education scheme and complied stats for the Press Association.
