Biography: Bernard Joseph Bernie Slaven (born 13 November 1960 in Paisley) is a Scottish-born former Republic of Ireland international footballer. A striker, with 162 goals in 423 league games, in a 12 year career, he also earned seven caps for the Republic of Ireland. Played in the famous Boro 1986 where he became a cult boro hero. Bernie was co commentator for matchday games for Century Radio and to this day where he can still be heard on the Three Legends Radio Phone in on Real Radio.
