Spavin, Alan Met Alan playing golf at ORMOND Beach Fl. Great fun and very fit in 1992. We played a mini Ryder Cup with 2 Americans, and won !!! A really likeable guy and a good golfer.

Spavin, Alan During the time Alan ran his soccer plex in Gaithersburg, Maryland, he also played in the local over 30 recreation league. He and Alan Kelly both played for a few years on the same team (Kel played in the field) with a group of us guys who had never played as youngsters, although most of us had played other sports like basket ball as kids. It was a learning experience for us which Spavin clearly enjoyed being a part of - why else would he be playing with us? He never shot on goal unless 'provoked' by poor sportsmanship from the other team, but provided great passes to the rest of us that we could usually screw up somehow. I played until I was 55 but never had as much fun or learned as much as teaming with Alan and Kel.
