Biography: Upon his return, Stephenson became youth coach at Leyton Orient and ran a pub in the area before becoming a Family Welfare Officer for Essex County Council. Now retired following a hip operation. Pompey were Stephenson's first club outside the capital. He had previously played for Crystal Palace and West Ham before Ron Tindall organised his £32,000 transfer from the Hammers. Was a consistent performer for three seasons but was one of seven players released by Ian St John in 1975. Moved over to South Africa to play for Durban and his opponents in his first match included another old
