Biography: Upon his return, Stephenson became youth coach at Leyton Orient and ran a pub in the area before becoming a Family Welfare Officer for Essex County Council. Now retired following a hip operation. Pompey were Stephenson's first club outside the capital. He had previously played for Crystal Palace and West Ham before Ron Tindall organised his £32,000 transfer from the Hammers. Was a consistent performer for three seasons but was one of seven players released by Ian St John in 1975.
