Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: Signed for a record transfer fee of £55,000 from Chelsea after only playing one game in three months for the London side, he soon established himself as regular first choice at Old Trafford and collected a League Championship winner's medal at the end of his first season. He won a European Cup winner's medal in 1968, a week after playing his only game for England. He was briefly challenged for his place in the team by Jimmy Rimmer and Paddy Roche, he won a second Division Championship medal and was then a FA Cup winner in 1977. He even managed to score two goals, both in 1973. He ran a van hire business in Rochdale, also ran a pub, worked in a car body repair shop, was commercial manager at Rochdale FC and coached the goalkeepers at Man City. Was a radio chat show host in Manchester. Is now an after dinner speaker and works on MUTV.
