Biography: Another acquisition from Newcastle United, who found himself surplus to requirements when the Geordies signed John Beresford from Pompey for £700,000. He was brought in on loan but Jim Smith saw enough to pay £100,000 for his signature. Very much a squad player, he appeared in the first team over the next three years before being allowed to join Southend United for £25,000. Leyton Orient were his last club before dropping down to non-league football with Canvey Island. He won one cap with the England Semi-Professional side before moving into management with Grays Athletic, Stevenage Borough and Gillingham. He has been in charge at Barnet since June 2010.
