Birthplace: Ripley, Derbyshire

Position: goalkeeper

Biography: As well as being a capable goalkeeper, Harry was also a mean cricketer. As well as keeping goal for Arsenal and Liverpool, he made 10 appearances as a batsman for Derbyshire. This sporting trait obviously was in the family genes as his brother William played six time for the England Cricket team. His son, Harry Jnr also turned out for Derbyshire and scored over 13,000 runs in his career. This was in addition to over 300 league appearances as a footballer and spells as manager of Coventry, Birmingham, and Derby County. Harry Snr. died of TB in 1908. He was 37.
