Tambling, Bobby A true Chelsea legend. I can remember a goal he scored from a free kick I think it was against Sheffield Wednesday. I was in the shed end when he hit I thought going well wide and it bent right into the net. It was unbelievable. I was also at Anfield when he scored the winner in the FA cup 3rd round my 1st away game. Absolutely a legend.

Tambling, Bobby I was at Warblington Secondary School with Bobby and I agree with all previous comments, he was a lovely, modest guy and he always scored many more goals than the rest of the team as my copy of the school magazine proves! I remember mentioning Bobby in my GCE English exam as the man destined to be a player for England. I passed and so did he! He was scouted by Chelsea. His dad Pop worked occasionally for my dad and we had many years of following Bobby's fantastic career. So sad that his health is not good. Cheers Bobby.

Tambling, Bobby My wife & I had the pleasure of knowing Bobby & Kathleen for a number of years during his playing career & he was one of the nicest persons you could wish to meet, we had many enjoyable outings with them both and I was able to help Bobby when he was trying to pass his driving test.
During his playing care it was the only time I was able to get my wife to attend a football match. He was good at all sports and he played with our cricket team the Willows and as I enjoyed bowling he was great as a wicket keeper behind the stumps.
Sadly we lost contact with Bobby over time but we know he is now living in Cork and the last time we saw him was at his Testimonial at Stamford Bridge with his partner Val when he was surprised & pleased to see us both but unfortunately we never got the chance to speak to him again as obviously there was so much going on as it was his special night.
It is my intention to try & contact Bobby again as age catches up on us all it would be so nice if we could speak to him again.
He was liked & admired by everyone he came into contact with & was a true modest gentleman.
Alan & Veronica.

Tambling, Bobby A cracking player in a cracking team. He would have deserved every penny of the out of this world wages they pay today. Bobby had a great shot and scored many wonderful goals. A lovely genuine quiet unassuming person. He put his heart and soul into every game and it was such a shame that he only managed a few England caps, he should have got far more. What a forward line; Osgood, Bridges, Houseman and Tambling. A really nice guy who gave his all, he will always be remembered by me.

Tambling, Bobby Bobby was a lovely patient in the hospital in London during the 60s/early 70s where I was a nurse. He was very polite and we loved that his little son used to sit on his bed beside him. He gave us a signed photograph of all the team and a signed football. A real gentleman.

Tambling, Bobby 20th May 1967 and I was a 13 year old helping my dad on his green-grocery round in Raynes Park London.
A lady and gentleman stopped in their car and the lady came over to us and bought a bag of grapes to eat while watching the FA Cup Final at Wembley . She was so happy and proud and told us that she was Bobby Tambling's mum. Always remembered that - happy days. Tottenham won 2-1 but Bobby did score.
