Birthplace: Sheffield

Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: Joined in 1985 from Sunderland for £275,000 but had to wait until mid-season for his chance, and when Gary Bailey was forced to retire from the game through injury, he became first choice, only to lose his place to Gary Walsh. Sir Alex Ferguson then brought in Jim Leighton and it spelt the end of Turner's hopes of winning his place back, and he left for one of his previous clubs, Sheffield Wednesday in 1988, in a £175,000 deal. Three years later, he was a League Cup control of the first team, he lost his place Final winner against United. Went into management with Leyton Orient, Stockport and Hartlepool.
