Birthplace: Birmingham

Position: Midfielder/Winger

Biography: Birmingham born winger with just one England cap scored nearly fifty goals in just under two hundred and fifty games for Aston Villa where he had started as an apprentice, moving onto to Rangers scoring fifty one in in one hundred and forty three games and then Liverpool where he completed another century of games although many being from the bench, after a couple of loans away from Anfield he moved to Southampton in January 1996, but failed to improve a struggling side and moved to Swindon at the end of the season havig made just nine appearances in all competitions. He retired after completing another two hundred games with Swindon and Bristol Rovers. After retiring he went on to coach in Coventry and then returned to Villas academy. He has since picked up teaching qualiications and became Head of Languages there. He is still playing Master football for Rangers

WALTERS , Mark An excellent player who has spoken out well re Racism. All the more disappointing, therefore, that he would sign for Glasgow Rangers, a Club with a formal, sectarian history ie they would not sign Catholics. James A Barr
