Biography: Signed as a Centre-half for 50 from Blackpool after playing just five games. The following season, he won a League Championship medal after playing 15 games. But it wasn't for another three seasons until he became a regular, only then for a knee injury to check his progress. He resumed his career after the Great War but then left after one season, when he was sold to Southend for 1,000. He served in the Footballers Battalion during the Great War and was seriously wounded during the battle for Passchendale. When he retired, he became a bookmaker in Manchester. He died in Wythenshawe in 1952, aged 66.
