Biography: Tony White was the first Black player to play for Wimbledon F.C. back in their Southern League days in 1972/73 before signing profesional forms for West Ham the following season having repesented England Schools at under 18 level. (Proud to be remembered as a former 'Ammer and getting a mention as Alfie Moon's alter ego on Eastenders a few years ago). Having spent 2 years mainly in the reserve team and seeing his career path blocked by the likes of Alvin Martin and the amazing Billy Bonds, he left for a brief spell in Belgium before returning to England, picking up a serious knee injury but nevertheless continuing a long career in the semi professional game with Slough, Sutton United, Dulwich Hamlet, Bromley and Tooting and Mitcham. After retiring Tony went back to work as the Player Liason/Marketing Manager for Wimbledon F.C. before the club went into administration and out of existance. Tony is now an International Scout for Chelsea Football Club.
