Birthplace: Buckie, Scotland

Position: Full-back

Biography: Scottish defender who joined Pompey on leaving school in 1949, turning professional the following year, and played for 18 years, winning a Division 3 championship in 1962. In 1967 he moved to Chelmsford City for a short spell before retiring. He won one cap for Scotland and played almost 400 club games retiring. Alex continued to live in the area and worked as a print representative. He eventually returned to Inverness in Scotland and died there on 29th July 2010.
