Biography: One of the clubs best ever goalkeepers, Woodley became a fixture in the Chelea goal within a matter of weeks after his move from non-league Windsor & Eton, despite competition from Scotland international Johnny Jackson. Lost the best years of his stay in the capital to World War Two, which also ended his England career. He helped Chelsea to the Football League South Cup Final success and his last match for the club was a friendly against Dynamo Moscow, which attracted a 100,000 crowd to Stamford Bridge. Moved back to the West Country, became a licensee at Bradford-Upon-Avon where he lived until his death in 1978 aged 68.
