Biography: An attacking midfield player he played in the Football League between 1958-76. He made 570 appearances in the Football League scoring 115 goals. He was known for his long throw ins. After his league career finished he played non league football with Gloucester,Ebbw Vale and Bridgend. Thereafter he spent two years coaching Cardiff Citys reserve and youth teams. Later he became a social worker helping young offenders. He also worked with people with mental health issues. He has assisted with Sport in the Community. Now retired he lives in Canton, Cardiff.

Woodruff, Bobby I started supporting Palace c.1963 as a 10/11 year-old. In the mid/late 60s and early 70s, Bobby Woodruff was one of our heroes on the Holmesdale End terraces. We used to chant: "Ah-yay-yayay, Jackson is better than Yashin. And Woodruff is better than Eusebio, and ...(whoever it was we were playing)... are in for a thrashing." Thanks for some wonderful memories Bobby.

Woodruff, Bobby Bobby is my Dad. He is now 80 years young and besides the usual aches and pains of being 80 he is in fine fettle, still playing lots of golf and going to the gym. He doesnt look 80, hopefully I have inherited those genes. We catch up often and he loves to talk football and the old days which my partner loves as he is football mad !!!!

Woodruff, Bobby Was in school with his son also named Bobby but now goes by the name Rob. In 1976 Bobby started coaching kids football in the Vale of Glamorgan league as he lived in Wenvoe at the time we were named Wenvoe FC most of us came from Barry. I would just like to say thank you Bobby still have found memories


Woodruff, Bobby Supported Palace for 60 years this year and my all time favourite player has always been Bobby Woodruff. I can remember so many games he played in, unfortunately when Malcolm Allison became manager/coach he did not take to Bobby. A player that always gave his best under his old Swindon manager Bert Head when he was Palace manager. Had my photo taken with Bobby about 15 years ago at a players reunion. Unfortunately my wife deleted it by mistake. Would love to meet up with him again.
